Install problem

I am having an install problem.

I am working with a version of MS Windows 2000. The computer is donated to
my church, and many of the original records were not included.

I am trying to load a program. To install this program, I need a copy of
the ".net framwork", a MS utility library (I believe). I have downloaded
this.

To install the ".net framework", I need "Microsoft Installer 3.0". Here's
the problem: I can't download this without "validation".

I have downloaded and run the "Genuine Check" program, but this finds no
certificates or anything else on my machine to guarantee that no pirated
software was used.

Can I do anything to work around this problem?

If this is a donated PC then you should re-install Windows. You do not
know what condition the machine is in - using an unknown and possibly
flawed, infected or damaged installation could cost you a lot of time,
wasted effort and lost data.

If you do not have the Windows installation CD and product key then
you should approach Microsoft for a low cost or free copy. MS has
a number of programs aimed at charities.
