I recently bought a new harddrive for my laptop. I went and bought a Windows
Home Edition of Xp. Upon instaling i get a message that says the system has
to make sure i can upgrade. So, apparently, i bought an upgrade. Is the
solution to my problem to purchase non-upgrade software?

Try to install XP after you format your computer. i had the same
