Running XP SP2 and I am trying Detect and Repair option in MS Office 2000 but
get message: This patch could not be opened. Verify that the patch package
exists and you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify
that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package.

Do you have your Office 2000 installation media accessible at the time you
are doing this?

Hi Shenan

I am having the same error in office 2003 pro with xp sp2 but I am unable to
unistall or even reinstaal from the original media as it still gives the
sames error.

I think the 'MSI' package has been corrupted on my system but even with the
command line setup utilising the 'f' switch I am still unable to reinstall or
setup my office.

Any ideas apart from fdisk and start xp again...;-)
