I must install a new motherboard and cpu due to heating issues.
My current system is listed below.

Motherboard:
CPU Type DualCore Intel
Pentium D, 3000 MHz
Motherboard Name Intel Corporation
PRAGUE
Motherboard Chipset Unknown
System Memory 2048 MB
BIOS Type Intel (01/29/07)
Communication Port Printer Port (LPT1)
My new motherboard and cpu will be.
Asus P5N - E SLI Socket 775 with a Intell Core 2 Quad Q6600 with
4 GB of OCZ Platinum PC 6400 800MHz

I would like to use my current hard drive and would like to know the
following.
Once I make all connections and am ready to boot the new system what will
Vista Ultimate that is installed on my hard drive ask for?
I have all my disk (not OEM) but I wish not to have to format and have a new
install.

All comments are welcome please......

Thanks to all in advance.

The chances are that you will have to do a re-install, as you are doing major
hardware changes.
The OS will think it is a new computer.
Also, you will have to re-activate.

Llee,
I recently had to replace the MOBO and CPU on my Vista HP 32 bit system and
it was a piece of cake.
Even though the MOBO and CPU brand were different it booted right up and
even reactivated over the internet without even having to use phone
activation.
