Instalattion of windows xp

I have win XP home in my computer as it came from the store. recently I
bought win XP pro and when trying to reinstall it, the installation stopped
cause :" no hard disk found". Stramge cause the computers works good with xp
home and I've installed xp pro on other computer and semmm to work fine there
also.
Does anybody as an clue for whats happening?

Probably there is no driver for the hard drive or controller. Find out
the manufacturer and download/provide the driver in the beginning of the
install.
 
Hi Pedro,
Are you installing Wins XP as Clean Installation or what did you select when
you represented with Menu,do you have any Avs,if you have you should disable
it before the installation.
Please write to the group with more Info.

Well, I tried to install xp prof over formating the disk. But when thw blue
menu appears and I chose install XP (or even repair console) it says: no hard
disk
 
Well...maybe this could help you help me...the motherboard of my comp is Asus
P4V800-X.

It may be that WinXP doesn't have a good driver for the IDE/SATA
controller built-in. Very early in the boot process, just after having
booted from the WinXP CD, the screen will display the words to the
effect: "Setup is examining your system." Press <F6> when this happens,
and have the *manufacturer's* WinXP-specific drivers for your IDE/SATA
controller available on a floppy disk.
