Inserting a worksheet

I am using Office 97. When I open my file and click on
Insert, worksheet is grayed. In addition, the "work area"
window is not maxamized. You can see the blue title bar,
but there is not a minimize, maxamize, or restore button.
How to I correct this?

maybe your workbook is protected. goto 'Tools - Protection' and
unprotect the workbook
