1. How do I verify which version of explorer I am using?

2. My monitor buzzes a lot (but not always) when my
browser is open to web sites. If I minimize the browser
it will stop, but will start again when I maxamize it. Any
advise?

Thanks

1) Open explorer. Click "help" menu, "About" menu, and
the first line gives you the version. (6.0.28... = 6)

2) Dying CRT monitors will often buzz on light/white
screens and stay quiet on dark/black screens. It may be
with your Windows color scheme that you never have a lot
of white on your screen when not using IE..
I never have white because staring at light bulbs is silly.

Try setting your Windows background to solid white(or the
color of a web page you KNOW buzzes) and see if you get
buzzing. If yes, either live with it or buy a new
monitor. If no, I can't help. Maybe your PC is haunted.
