Ink refill supplier

I found I think two good ink refill kit suppliers for Canon BCI-6 cartridges
(i9900 printer).
1. Hobbicolors, 8 color refill kit w/blank cartridges
2. alotofthings.com, 8 color refill kit w/blank ink tanks and using ink
supplied by Formulabs.

My question is- has anyone used both these refill kits and has an opinion on
which he prefers. Please do not consider price.
Thank you
Frank

Frank - Lots of very positive posts on this NG and on the Nifty-Stuff Forum
about these products. Also - they must be really good as our resident troll
goes into a rage when anyone mentions them.

It's aftermarket ink; price is NEVER a consideration for most people,
unless they panhandle for a living and run a printer on the side . . .

HobbiColors is fine. Haven't tried Alotofthings as they don't ship
outside the USA - they obviously don't need the business ;-). . .

Frank,
I've used Formulabs ink from Alotofthings since early 2001 (maybe late 2000)
and never had any problems. Out of curiosity I contacted HobbiColors about a
year ago and got a refill kit for my iP4000. I ran some tests using step
scales and selected photos and compared HobbiColors, Formulabs, Canon OEM
and a cheap prefilled third party ink cartridge. HobbiColors had slightly
better color gamut than Formulabs and both of them were slightly better than
Canon OEM, but all three were so close that it really doesn't make a bit of
difference which ink is used. All three were fine. The main difference is
that HobbiColors and Formulabs are affordable and Canon OEM is far too
expensive. Fading hasn't been an issue either. All my prints made with
Formulabs or HobbiColors ink look like they just came out of the printer.
FWIW, the cheap third party cartridges were OK, but in no way up to any of
the three reputable brands I tested. My preference at this point is with
HobbiColors because of the virgin ink tanks supplied with each kit.
