Information Bar nuisance

IE 6.0 XPpro sp2

I have an application that displays locally stored webcam images in Explorer
as a htm file. But the Information Bar warns me at every new page:-

"To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this file
from showing active content that could access your computer. Click here for
options..."

Although I have set the security level for local intranet to low, which
should allow all active content without prompts according to the help
under -

"Understanding Security Zones-

In addition, any files already on your local computer are assumed to be very
safe, so minimal security settings are assigned to them. You cannot assign a
folder or drive on your computer to a security zone."

also:-

"Understanding the Internet Explorer Information Bar-

To turn off the Information Bar for ActiveX controls, in the ActiveX
controls and plug-ins section of the list, under Automatic prompting for
ActiveX controls, click Enable. "

Despite enabling everything, the information bar wants to keep prompting me.

Any ideas?

Thanks Don, that did the trick. I wonder why I couldn't find the answer in
help....

Hi,
Internet Options> Advanced> Security> check "Allow active content to run
in
files on My Computer ."

There are several other workarounds, but you would have to rename or edit
each HTM file.

Hope this helps,

I don't know whether or not that's in Help. I don't have access to XP SP2 at
the moment. When you allow active content in the local machine zone, you're
giving up some of the enhanced security provided by SP2, so that's generally
discouraged.
