Information Bar problem-can't turn off

Hello :)

I have my MSIE homepage set to a page that has flash on it. Every time I
open MSIE, the Information Bar says "to help protect your security, internet
explorer has restricted..."

I don't care for it and would rather be rid of it. How do I turn it off? I
know the risk I'm taking. If I select "info bar help" it supposedly tell me
how, but that doesn't work. Step 4 of "To stop blocking file and software
downloads with the Information Bar" says this.

Do one or both of the following:
To turn off the Information Bar for file downloads, in the Downloads section
of the list, under Automatic prompting for file downloads, click Enable.
To turn off the Information Bar for ActiveX controls, in the ActiveX
controls and plug-ins section of the list, under Automatic prompting for
ActiveX controls, click Enable.

Enable is already selected on both of 'em, but the info bar still appears
every time I start MSIE. In the same box where I do that, I tried changing
the custom settings pulldown to low, clicking reset and clicking OK, but that
does nothing. I tried tools/internet options/security/default level, but it
won't let me turn it any lower than medium, saying "The recommended security
level for this zone is medium. The level you have chosen is lower than this.
Please chose a seciruty level of medium or higher"

What's the story on that? What's the point of even having a thing where the
security level can be adjusted if it won't allow itself to turn it down any
lower than medium?

Don't you hate it when you know a risk you're taking, you don't want some
security measure that you feel is more trouble than it's worth, it's just an
inconvienience and a nusance to you and it's still forced down your throat
whether you like it or not?

Hi,
Try putting the Homepage site in Trusted sites. From Internet Options>
Security> Trusted Sites> Sites> uncheck "Require server verification
(https:) for all sites" then add (for example) " *.msn.com " (without the
quotes) to this zone.

It would be safer to use Tuusted Sites than to lower security for the
Internet Zone.

Hope this helps,
Don

It wouldnt let me, saying something about an "invalid sequence" when I
clicked "add," probably because the page is actually on my comp instead of
the 'net, but thanx anyway :) (said page activates a program that allows
saving flash files)
