INDIDVD 4x External Firewire Drive

Darryl

I bought this drive to make home movies and can not get
it to run. I have tried TDK support and they replaced the
drive but it still does not work. It will record about 10
percent of the project and then gets a write error. Have
Tried Original DVD's from OEM and COMPUSA Disks. Nothing
works. I am using an ASUS K7V-E mother board, I gig ram,
OrangeMicro firewire card. I think there is a driver
conflict. After removeing all the software that came with
the drive I could not write to my Lite-on CDRW drive. TDK
gave me a Roxio Registry cleaner. I ran it and the I
could write to the DRCW drive. Can anyone give me a
suggestion. I have also downloaded the lates driver for
my ASUS board. But they are dated 2001 and 2002.

I am tired of trying to figure it out with no luck.

Thanks

Try disabling the 1394 LAN port in My Network places (Rt click My network
places, properties, Rt click on 1394 LAN & disable) you will not need it
unless you are using it for TCP/IP. This may cure your problem

Thanks for the response. I tried that and got a lot
better response but did not fix. I talked to a local guy
and he told me it was the firewire card. So I bought a
USB 2.0 card and not it works great and no problems. He
said to never buy a card unless it has a CD with Drivers
because all hardware is different and windoes can not run
everything.

Again Thanks
