I'm running Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 and I'm testing a Lucerne Seach
program, and whenver I run it, I'm getting a message: Too many open files.
How can one increase the open files handles in Windows 2000 or Windows 2003

You've got to change the value of MAXOPENS in your machine's configuration
file.

What's that machine config file called. Is that the config.nt that you are
referring to? and also what is the maximum Windows 2000/2003 can handle?
