Incorrect hardware profile.

I recently installed an AGP Video card in my HP PC. The onboard video adapter
was disabled and the installation went fine. I have been using the new video
capability to plav PC games for the past two days. Tonight when I turned my
PC on, the display was dark. I assumed that perhaps the new video card had
failed. I moved the monitor connection back to the onboard video connector
and the monitor was functioning. I accessed Device Manager under Hardware and
I found that the onboard video adapter is disabled but the new Radeon 9600
AGP card is not listed. I assumed that a previous hardware profile may had
been loaded. While facing this problem, there was a general power failure in
my neighborhood aor about 25 seconde. When my PC re-booted, the display was
again dark. I moved the monitor connection back to the AGP card connector and
the display functioned properly. The AGP card is again listed th the Hardware
section of Device Manager.
How can I resolve this problem and have the proper hardware configutration
loaded each time I boot.

Disable the onboard video in BIOS and in Device Manager, too. Install
the latest DirectX, then install the driver for the card.

Thank you. I made the change in my system's BIOS and that appears to have
solved my problem.
