AGP Video Card does not load consistently.

I recently installed a Radeon 9600 AGP card in my HP PC. My system came with
an integrated video adapter(on-board video) but I needed the AGP card for
games.
After installing the AGP card, the system worked fine for a couple of days.
Then when I booted the system the display was dark. I moved the monitor
connector back to the on-board video adapter connector and the display was
fine. I accessed Device Manager and under Hardware, the Radeon AGP card was
no longer listed. I experienced an AC power failure and when the system
re-booted the Radeon AGP card was again listed in Device Manager Hardware.
I posted my problem a couple of days ago and I received a suggestion to make
a change in the system's BIOS. I accessed BIOS and selected the AGP/Onboard
option and it appeared to have solved my problem.
Today the same problem occured and Device Manager did not list the AGP Card
in Hardware. I shut down and restsrted my system and still had the problem.
I killed the AC power while the system was running(improper way to shut
down) and when the system re-started the AGP card is now listed in Device
Manager ant the Radeon card is functioning properly.
It appears that Windows is not loading the hardware profile with the AGP
card on a consistent basis.
Help!!

The computer simply isn't detecting the graphics card on certain occasions.
Obvious thing to do is to reseat the card. If this doesn't work then I would
test the card over a period of several days in a different computer.

If you do not the on-board video adapter, I would disable it. Most on-board
video card can cause problems when used with an AGP card, unless you turn it
off or disable it.

Following instructions from HP, I did disable the on-board integrated video
adapter. In fact, when the system boots without the AGP card listed, the
Integrated Video Adapter is shown in the "disabled" state.

I presume you mean the integrated adaptor shows in Device Manager as
disabled, correct? Remove it from device manager if so. Restart and see
if the trouble persists.
