Hi,
i have a problem with my hard drive, my rig is
athlon 1.2g
768 SDRAM
Windows xp (without sp1)
40 gig Quantum fireball harddrive with 3 partition
c: ntfs = 5gig
d: fat32 = 14 gig
e: fat32 = 18.5 gig
the problem starts when i want to free same space in my
d: drive, my c drive is used only for OS and important
files like drivers, norton systemworks and some small
files, i install most of my program in my D drive.
Now after i uninstall a game which was Americas Army (it
takes about 800 Mb of space in my D drive) it did not
free up any space in my hard drive it still shows the
exact number before the uninstall, and i thought it might
be a faulty uninstaller, so i tried uninstalling another
game which was Battlefield 1942 (about 800 Mb too in my
D: drive, i check the directory for this game and it
shows 800mb )and the same thing happen all over again it
did not free up any space!! so i tried norton disk docter
to scan my drive and it shows no error, i also use chkdsk
performed after the next boot up.. and it still no use..
i tried defrag D: drive and still shows the same free
space..
is this a faulty hard drive or a bug??
any help would be very appreciated
Thanks
