Inbox not really empty?

Can someone explain to me why one of my users can view her
inbox with Outlook 2002 client and it shows as empty, but
if I check the folder size it shows 11MB of mail? If we
look at the same inbox using the Exchange client there are
150 messages. Only when we deleted them while using the
Exchange client did the inbox show as being empty when we
returned to using the Outlook 2002 client.

Have you checked her view?

Actually, I was working with her in Outlook when she had
several messages in her inbox and we deleted them. Some
of them were notifications from our e-mail server telling
her that her mailbox was over the size limit as we limit
boxes to 15MB. After we deleted them from the deleted
items in Outlook I checked the folder size of the inbox
and it showed 11MB. That is when I opened the Exchange
client on her system and saw all of the messages we had
just deleted along with many others from days ago.

Hmmmm, I'd really suspect an OST issue. Is she setup to work offline (even
if she doesn't actually ever work offline)?

Try resetting the current view and see if it's maybe a corrupted view. View,
Current View, Define Views. Select the current view and click Reset.

Any add-ins running?

I checked for synchronization and it's turned off so it
shouldn't be an OST issue. When I did this I noticed the
words Filtered in parentheses next to Inbox. She
currently has 7 messages in her Inbox all of which she has
read. I then closed Outlook and opened Exchange and none
of the 7 messages shows up as being read.
