Inactive Printer

My printer does not show as an Icon in Control Panel/Printers. The printer
is a Dell A922. It appears it is no longer assigned as the default.

The last time it worked I tried to print a pdf file from word.

When I try to print something now, it is either inactive or "Quicken PDF
Printer" shows as default printer. I can manually assign the only printer I
have which is the Dell.

How and where can I change the default. The screen is empty of icons and I
can not install at the Control/Printer area so I need a different suggestion.

Special problems afflict Dell 900 series (Lexmark) printers,
usually curable by reinstallation -- but you must beforehand
ensure the Services RPC and Print Spooler are running (turned on.)
