Inaccessoble Boot Device Eror

I've gotten inaccessible boot device on a few machines in the past month or
so. I recently tried running a repair using the windows 2000 and even
fixboot via the recovery console. When I use the setup CD to try a repair I
get a message that the C drive is corrupted and cannot be reapired. Is there
any hope in recovery this hard drive? If I wipe the drive and reload
everything would th3e drive still function or am I wasting my time and I
should deem this drive dead and prepare to get rid of it and repalce it with
a new drive.

Get the diagnostic utility from the drive manufacturers web site. Run it
against the drive, THEN decide the course of action.
