Inability to browse during evening since latest windows update

For over a year, my connection has worked just fine, but
now it's annoying me. After the most recent windows
update (about a week ago or so), my computers at home
stop browsing during the peak evening hours. I've done
virus/worm scans. I've downloaded and used spybot and
adaware. I've corrected all the problems. I've called
my ISP during the down times and the signals are all
good. Does anyone else have this problem? Is it
something in the latest download?

i don't suppose your isp would lie to you about, and that
there server was maybe over loaded at those times. or cut
down on the running programs, might help or increase ram.
you really should make a restore point before downloading
anything, even from ms.

Can you PING sites when you cannot browse?

At a DOS prompt execute

PING www.microsoft.com
Do you get a positive response?

Mentioned which ISP you use may be some one has the same problem.
