In Frontpage2002, Publish Web is grayed out. How can I fix?

I have frontpage2002.
Have a page designed.
When I try to publish it, the 'Publish Web" area under file menu is
grayed out.
I have been trying for several days to figure out how to get it to work.

It's only available when you have created (and or have open) a web/site.
-You have to create a web/site first.

Please give the actual detailed steps you used to create the web site, and
how you then opened it.

It's a common mistake for new users to create just a "loose" page and not a
web/site.

I see in your original post, you say you created a new page...does this new
page exist within your web/site then? You'll see in among all the other
folders FP creates in the left column Folder List...you should see all your
pages, the Images folder, etc.

If you go to your Computer, duble click on C drive & drill down to
where you have your website, do you see a folder or a folder with a
globe? If you see a folder, this means a Frontpage website was not
created

Yep.

And then if it's a simple folder, open FrontPage and browse to the same
folder,
right click it and select "Convert to Web"

However, don't convert the My Documents, or My Webs folder to a web.
Your web needs to live in its own folder / directory.
