Published to hard drive, but not in sync

I wanted to be able to edit my web from my laptop while I was away, so I
opened it on the server and published to a folder on my laptop. Then I opened
the web in that folder, and immediately went to the Publish dialog. For some
reason, FrontPage2002 wanted to publish every file to the server, even though
it was set to publish changed files only by comparing dates. And the dates
were identical. (When I tell it to publish by comparing the files, it has a
question mark next to all the files).

Any ideas why this is happening?

Did you do a full publish down to laptop first?

Yes...that's it...do a full publish, not just changed pages.

When I use Compare, it puts a ? next to all the files, and in the Status
column it says "Conflict".

Does anyone know what it means when the Publish dialog, when set to Compare,
shows the ? next to the file name, and says "Conflict" in the Status column?
Maybe this will give a clue as to what is going on here.
