How to publish files when 'File>Publish Site' is not visible?

I made a website, only local files, I want to publish it but the 'Publish
Site' option under 'File' isn't available. Is there a way I can turn my
folder with all the website files into a website folder which can then be
published ? or must I upload with an ftp client and spend hours editing in
future?

Do you have a FP site Open (for your local pages)
- required in order to publish
Create a new FP site: File New Site (select the empty site template) and browse to an empty or new folder
- File import your pages (and related media) into the new FP site

You didn't create a website, you created a folder with "loose" pages in it.
You can avoid that problem next time by creating a web/site first (like File
| New...Single Page Web or whatever). This creates a web folder with all
necessary parts for it to be a site.
