Trouble publishing to remote web

Ekessi

Our company was using FrontPage2002 for a long time and we would always
take a back-up of the site, then work on the local machine and
"Publish" all changes to the remote server when they were ready.

Then we upgraded to FrontPage2003 and now when we try to "Publish" the
entire Navigation Structure gets lost and I get the error message: "The
following pages in your website contain link bars or navigation bars
that use new formatting options. They will not display properly
because the server you are publishing to does not support these
features." I spoke to a rep at Microsoft (paid the $35) and he said it
was that the ISP didnt have the latest MS FrontPage Server Extensions"
but then I spoke to the ISP and they claim that they have FrontPage2002
Extensions and that they have customers using 2003 without a problem.

I currently have to work on the remote server and it drives me nuts
because I am afraid of making a mistake and then being stuck since I
can't work off of the back-ups without destroying my Navigation
Structure.

Any suggestions at all? I am desperate!

Do a full "Publish" from the server back to your client.
I mean the entire web.

Hi Steve,

I am also facing a similar problem. When i try to publish the entire
website i get an error that you are not authorised to publish the
website. Even when i provide the user credentials it does not help.

I will be great if you can provide some more inputs. What rights is
this user missing :(

Regards,
Nitin

Verify your host has the FP 2002 and not just the FP 2000 SE
File Open Site (enter your online site URL)
Tools Site Settings (your FP Se should be 5.x)

What troubles are you have and what version of FP are you running, since FP2002 and FP2003 both
support publishing to the FP2000 extensions.
