How do I import messages en contactpersons which I exported form Outlook into
a file named outlook.pst into Windows Mail? I get a message that messages
cannot be imported from MAPI-client.

You have to have Outlook installed to import from a pst file into WinMail.
You can install the evaluation version of Office 2007 to do this.

I have a similar problem. I failed to transfer the contactpersons from
Outlook 2003 under Windows XP to Windows Mail under Windows Vista. Tryed all
available fileformats via my USB-harddisc. How, please.

In Outlook on your XP machine, go to 'File|Import and Export|Export to a
file|Comma Separated Values' and export your Contacts. Take this .CSV file
to your Vista machine and use 'File|Import|Windows Contacts|CSV' to import
the Contacts file.

I have a trial copy of Outlook 2007 on my new Windows 7 PC with my old
computer's Outlook .pst files successfully transferred in and it all looks
fine. I am not able to get Winmail to transfer these files in. I don't really
want to buy the demo as I have bought and installed Office Home and Student.

Windows Mail is not supported on win7, Windows Live Mail is
In WLM import from Exchange (outlook)

PS If you installed Office H&S without first uninstalling the Trial Version
of Office, together with its Activation Assistant, then rebooted prior to
installing your paid for version, then you still have the Trial version,
which will expire at some stage

Unfortunately the current version of Windows Live Mail will not
import Outlook or Exchange .pst files. You have to import them
into Outlook Express, then import the resulting .dbx files into
Windows Mail or Windows Live Mail.
