I would like to know how you did this. I am stuck with the same import
problem.

Thanks...

I made a clean Vista install therefore do not have OE6 installed, only the
backup OE6 .dbx files on a CD.

The same problem ... I got the dbx files copied in
the f:\Outlook Express\. When trying to import, Vista
claims that "no messages can be found..." bla bla ...
What to do?

Make sure that the DBX files are not marked Read Only. If F: is a CD-ROM
you will have to copy them to a hard drive and then remove the Read Only
attribute.

Is Folders.dbx there with the other DBX files?

Mail from an OE6 store imports OK into Vista x86 Beta2, but I have had no
success with x64 Beta2 regardless of single folder import or all. No
imported mail folder.

Also a note : when browsing for the store, at the final folder level, if
double clicked (instead of single click then select button) will result in
duplication of final folder in path e.g. Identities\{xxxxx-xx-}\Outlook
Express\Outlook Express which reults in no mail found etc.

Be interested in anyone who has done a successful import into x64 Beta2 from
an OE6 store.

Try one folder at a time. That was the only way I could make it work.

Well when I try to import the mail folders, I get a pop up...

Congratulations!

Your data from "Microsoft Outlook Express 6" was successfully imported into
Windows Mail.

But when I have a look in windows mail there is nothing there..

I have tried selecting .. All files, individual files.. but it is all the
same....

Hi

My 64-bit Beta2 Vista says it imported all messages from OE6 successfully,
but nothing comes.

My workaround: no export, just copy them all.

Go to XP, OE6, select and copy all messages (*.eml) within each folder to a
corresponding folder on the desktop.

Close Windows Mail if not already, go to default Vista Windows Mail Store
Folder (C:\Users\your_name\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail) and move
there the OE6 folders you copied.

All messages will show.

I a using Vista beta 2; Build 5384: Works well
I am attempting to import messages from OE6 as well.
When I browse to the folder from MS Mail 7 - Import, on the partition of
the Vista computer (has C & D partitions; Vista on C data on D), it shows an
empty folder but when I look at it or put my mouse on it, it shows all the
MB file sizes.
I can open the emails into MS Mail 7 and when I open the D drive and look
at the files they are eml files (I converted them from dbx. first) but no luck
with the import.

I tried doing it directly from the drive that had the folders which were in dbx on OE6, but same issues.

Is this function just not working yet or am I missing something simple, as well?

I get an imported folder with the name of the folder I imported but it is
empty.
