I bought a new computer with vista & put my old hardrive (xp) into & trying
to import messages. But when I look to that drive & folder it says no
messages to import, & coppied the folder with all .dbx & folder.dbx to a new
folder on my C drive & it still won't import. Help Please

Thanks, Actuall to make it work, Vista would make the diectory to import with
an extra folder. so I put a sub folder in my new folder I created, I then it
saw it.

Guys

I have a new Vista machine. I am trying to get my Outlook Express email from
my XP machine into Windows Mail on the Vista machine. I have copied all the
dbx files including the folders.dbx file to a folder on the Vista machine. I
have made sure the folder and files are not read only. I have attempted to
import. Can't see any files. I have pointed the import to the actual Outlook
Express message store on the XP machine. Can't see the files. I have read the
article at www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx. I have checked the path. It appears to
be correct. I have added a sub-folder as suggested by Randeeo. I'm at my wits
end. How can this be this hard?

If you read closely on the oehelp.com link it explains that doubles the last directory. For example I made d:\mailback and copied all files into this directory. When I told vista where OE dir was it showed it as d:\mailback\mailback just create another sub folder while this screen is open with the same name as the primary folder of where you copied the files then just move them to this folder. works perfect.
