HOW to Transfer DBX to WMail without 'folder.dbx' nor account sett

Before getting rid of my old computer I saved all my DBX files in some CDs.
HOWEVER I did not export the accounts settings (in fact I’ve never heard
anything about IAF files!!!). Now that I’m going to buy a new computer with
Windows Vista, I’ll use the Microsoft Office Outlook, and will be able to
save my old files. Since I don’t have these IAF files from my old computer,
and also do not have the accounts settings, nor the FOLDER.dbx, WHAT CAN I DO
to import the .dbx files?? I tried : I SET UP MY ACCOUNT on ‘windows mail’
FIRST and THEN tryed to import the dbx files from the cds: IT DIDN'T work...
Need help! Thanks

That is what I found in the Help section of Windows Mail:

Copy all .dbx files into a folder (name it "Outlook Express"), then copy the
folder and all its contents to the Documents folder on the computer running
Windows Vista. (You can store this copy of the Outlook Express folder in a
location other than the Documents folder, as long as you remember where to
find it.)

On the computer running Windows Vista, do the following:
Click to open Windows Mail.

Click the File menu, point to Import, and then click Messages.

Click Microsoft Outlook Express 6, and then click Next.

Make sure Import mail from an OE6 store directory is selected, and then
click OK.

Click Browse, find the Outlook Express folder you copied to this computer,
and then click the folder once to select it. (Do not open the folder when you
select it.)

Click Select Folder, and then click Next.

Click All folders to import all the folders, or click Selected folders and
select which message folders you want to import, and then click Next.

Click Finish.

After you have copied all files in Windows Mail, you can then export them
into yourOutlook.

Just do like I did, I copied folder.dbx from another computer that had the
same named folders.
The import function in Windows Mail now works.

As I just needed the inbox, deleted and sent I did not have to change
anything on the computer that had folder.dbx

If you want to import a costum named folder, it probably would work if you
just create an empty one on the other computers OE6 first before copying the
folder.dbx file.

P.S.

If you create a folder, you have to move at least on email to it for it to
be activated in folder.dbx.

Sames goes for sent or delete folders, if they are epmty due to OE6 have
never been used on this computer.

Thank you so much Tony! I finally got what I was needing! Since I have so
many customised folders, I (re)create them on my sister's outlook express,
just to have them all activated on the 'folders file', and then I copied the
FOLDERS.DBX file. It worked perfectly!
