Import Outlook 2007 data into Outlook 2000

I have Outlook 2007 on one machine and Outlook 2000 on another. I had no
problem importing my Outlook.pst file from Outlook 2000 into Outlook 2007,
but with the new .pst formatting, I have not found a method to reverse the
process.

I would like to synchronize all data in the 2 programs. How can I import
Outlook 2007 .pst files into Outlook 2000?

Niether Import nor Export is ever reccomended for pst data
Within OL simply open the pst, having said that an OL 2003/2007 format pst
is not readable in OL2k
You would have to create, in OL2007, and old format pst, copy data to that,
before copying that pst to the OL2k PC and opening it

Hi DL,

How would I create an old format .pst from Outlook 2007 so that I can read
it in Outlook 2000? Please help.

Thanks,

Val

File>New>Outlook Data File. Select the "Outlook 97-2002" format PST.

Hello Brian,

Thanks for your response. I did what you suggested. When I try to open or
import the pst file in outlook 2000 I get the message "Properties for this
information service must be defined prior to use". Is there a way around
this?

Configure the Personal Folders service in the Mail applet in Control Panel.

You must do it for any version of Outlook. First, tell me in what mode,
Internet Mail Only, or Corporate/Workgroup, you installed Outlook 2000.

Brian,

Thanks for your continued help. I have three computers in LAN, none of them
is a server. They are internet clients and get the e-mails from COMCAST mail
server.

Also, what I noticed is that when I create pst file using File->New->Outlook
Data File->Outlook 97-2002 pst, the size of the file created is only 264 KB,
while the OUtlook 2007 pst file is 168900 KB. I am sure you know what is
happening here.

Val

You didn't answer my question about mode.

Are you saying that when you create a new, empty OL 97-2002 PST that the
size if 264K but when you create a new, empty OL 2007 PST that the size is
168M?

Brian,

I'm all set. I am able to read outlook 2007 pst into outlook 2000 after the
re-install of outlook 2000.

Thanks,

Val
