You can only import a .pst file directly, if Outlook is installed on the
Vista computer.
Install Outlook, copy the .pst, set Outlook to use the .pst file
In Windows Mail, import.

--or--
on your old computer running Outlook,
export to Outlook Express format
copy all the .dbx & .wab files to a temporary folder on the Vista computer
In Windows Mail, import. (Pay attention to the path to the files...it gets
messed up)

As per my knowledge, you can import a .pst file only if Outlook is
installed on your system. You would not be able to import a .pst file
into windows mail.

You can also import the messages first into Outlook Express on your
old computer, then import them from Outlook Express to Windows
Mail.

Bring along the .wab file if you want your old contacts. After copying
the transferred files to a directory on your new computer, make sure
the copies are read-write instead of readonly before you import them
into Windows Mail.
