import existing website to new instance of front page?

James Gussen

Hello,

I have helped my daughter use FrontPage 2000 on her computer at my
house to create and edit a website.

I would like to set up FrontPage on her computer at her mother's house
so that she can work on her website there

My question is: what is the best way to get her website onto the
computer at her mother's house?

In a similar situation about a year ago, I tried importing the website
from the web server to the instance of FrontPage on the computer at
her mom's house, but in doing so nearly ended up deleting the website
- I'm still not sure why.

So I'd appreciate any advice on how to do this.

Thanks very much in advance for your assistance!

You need to Publish it from the server down to your daughter's machine at
mom's house...not import.

All she needs to do is install Frontpage on the PC, and publish the site
from the server to that computer. Frontpage extensions are required to open
the site "live" to enable the publish process to take place.

Else just FTP down to the computer from the server if not using the server
extensions.

Thanks very much to both of you for your help!

The web server doesn't have the FrontPage server extensions, so I will
FTP the site to the new computer.

Best,
