Import contacts to a separate folder

Vince

I exported about 100 contacts from my work computer to a .csv file. I want
to import them to my home computer running Outlook 2002. I created a folder
within my Contacts just for these work contacts. How do I import the .csv
file's contacts into that folder?

Thanks

I would go about that a different way. A csv export, and import might
"drop things" that you don't want to loose - I dunno.

If you create a new data (.pst) file, in your office outlook, and then
copy your contacts to that (drag n' drop with the right mouse button,
and select copy (so it doesn't do a 'move')).

Then drop the new data file from Outlook. Then put the newly created
..pst file on a mem stick (or somethin') and take it home.

Then in O2002 at home, start it, and from File, Open, OUtlook Data file
(I hope, could be diferent in 2002, but I'm sure you'll get it anyway),
and open the data file.

Now drag n' drop your contacts from the "2nd mailbox" into your
contacts. They will be perfectly copied.

Export and import is never the way to transfer data from one Outlook
instance to another. What version of Outlook is being used as the source?

The source computer is running Outlook 2002.

Create a new PST on the source machine (File>New>Outlook Data File).
Right-click and drag your Contacts folder to the new PST. When the copy is
complete, right-click the new PST's root and choose Close. Close Outlook.
Copy the PST by whatever means you have available to youto the destination
PST and stor it on the hard drive there in, say., My Documents. Start
Outlook and open that PST (File>Open>Outlook Data File). Click on the
Contacts folder it contains, select all the contacts with Ctrl-A and
right-click and drag the selection to your default Contacts folder. Choose
Copy when you release the mouse button.
