Outlook and Outlook Express aren't the same program. Also, the directory
containing the old files should be called windows.old.

If you had Outlook, you need to install Outlook under Vista, preferably
version 2003 or later. Version 2002 also runs under Vista, but with
a few problems. Windows Mail needs a part of Outlook to help it
understand files from Outlook. A free trial version, if you can find one,
will run more than long enough to assist in the import.

If it was Outlook Express, see here:

The .wab file contains the contacts. Before you import the files into
Windows
Mail, make sure they are read-write instead of readonly.

If you are having trouble finding the files, you may need to enable seeing
hidden and system files, find the files, then copy them into a directory
that isn't hidden or system.
