IME Must Be In Startup Menu?

IME, when installed in XP, puts several executables and other files in the
Startup Menu -- five in all.

I often use my laptop to compose and send messages in Japanese.

But these five files eat up a fair amount of System Memory.

Must they be in the Startup Menu for IME to function properly or can I
simply bring up IME manually when I need it -- and if so, how do I do that?

Yeah, well you get what you pay for. Maybe if you had actually paid for a proper program instead of just downloading a free one,
you wouldn't be having these problems.
