Images that cover the whole slide

Is there an easier way to insert large images onto slides and have them conform to the dimensions of the slide without dragging the image handles from one corner to another. I remember adding images as backgrounds kind of does this, but I wonder if there is a way to snap to the edges without setting a background.

(Have to do this for many slides with large photos of the same physical size.)
