Can I have images automatically display in received messages? I'm using

Only if the sender embedded them instead of attached them. The recipient
can't choose.

The pictures are imbedded and I have to click on the little red x to make
them download. I'd like them to download automatically.

If the sender embedded them in the body of the message with Insert, Picture,
they will appear automatically when the message is opened. If the sender
attached them as picture files, you can view them one-by-one by clicking on
the filename - a single click will open them in Outlook's viewer, if one
exists for that type of graphic; a double-click will open it in the native
application for that graphic type (e.g. in Vista, Windows Photo Gallery for
..jpg, Office Document Imaging for .gif, Internet Explorer for .gif).

Attachments will not display 'inline' - see
http://www.slipstick.com/mail1/inline.asp for utilities that make them
easier to display.

"blocked content' can be enabled. right click on the placeholder and choose
the option to change settings.
