I don't mind dell, only had 2 computers from them and they've both been very good. You will get a much better specification if you bought from outside those though. Your limiting yourself a lot, you could get twice the computing power if your bought a custom build from the likes of www.scan.co.uk

I wouldn't say none of them have got decent PC's. People are just giving their personal opinion.
I have used Dell, Acer and Sony in the past and never had a problem.
But as others have mentioned go for the custoom built PC from Novatech. Much better customer support if it is ever needed..

I build my own PC's because that is best value for money, but I would agree with others that Novatech or Scan as they offer both offer great after service and are great value for prebuilt PC's. :D

They make alright computer for browsing the net, but thats about it.

If your thinking of gaming, editing or something else demanding then a big brand like that wont be much use. You pay for the name and not the components, where as if you bought a custom build from the likes of scan or novatech then you will get alot better specification/quality components. Also you have the ability/flexibility to possibly upgrade a custom build in the future if you find out you want it more powerful, which is not always possible with a big brand (it sometimes is, but not always).
