I'm confused

On my father's work laptop, he has XP pro. When you go
to the User Accounts control panel, the highly graphical
one doesn't come up, the Windows 2000 style one comes
up. Another thing i noticed was when you right click on
a folder and go to Properties, on his computer the
sharing tab looks different than mine (i have XP pro
too), and theres a security tab on his, and not on mine.
We both have XP pro... so why are there these minor
differences? How can I get my computer like his?

For your second query - To display the Security tab

- Open Folder Options in Control Panel.
- Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Folder Options.
- On the View tab, under Advanced settings, clear Use simple file sharing
[Recommended].

Hi Steve,

Your father may be using the Classic Start Menu which is the old Windows
look. Right click on the taskbar, select properties, click the start menu
tab, click start menu button, then apply. That should take care of the
problem I hope.

I use Classic Start Menu too, and it doesn't change the way the User
Accounts tab appears. I suspect Dads User Account applet looks
different because he is on a domain at work. I can get this Win2k style
applet to appear by going to Start, Run... and typing "control
userpasswords2" without the quotes. Another way to manage users is to
right click My Computer and select Manage. The Local Users and Groups
branch is the one for managing users.
