"Illegal Operation"

Can someone please help me before I pull ALL my hair out!
Everytime (95% of the time) I try to get online using IE6
I get the error message: "This program has performed an
illegal operation and will be shut down" Details: IEXPLORE
caused an invalid page fault in Module unknown(mostly) but
lists differant modules each time. Also get a box
saying "an error has occured in Internet Explore. IE will
now close. If you continue to experience problems restart
your computer" which does not help. I downloaded a new
copy of IE6 and the latest Pack II and then uninstalled
all the IE programs on my computer before I installed the
new copy but nothing changed. I did some searching on the
MS website and found it could possibly have to do with the
registry but I'm not that computer smart. Any help would
be greatly appreciated. I have been dealing with this for
about six weeks now and I'm about ready to dump my
harddrive. Ouch! Thanks again. Tom
