Ikernel.exe Application Error

C

Coleman Smith

While trying to remove a Palm pilot program I received the following error
message.

"ikernel.exe Application Error

Instruction at 0x771c732a reference 0x001634E0

The memory could not be read."

This occurred after a file transfer stalled out from drive C to the CD drive
which I believe occurred because it was a hugh photo file.

I got the same error when I tried to reinstall the program.

After the file transfer stall the icon for the Palm went to dark and was no
longer functional.

Technical information on my system follows my sig.

I could not find any thing on this in the help file.

Any help or suggestion will be appreciated.

Thanks:

I installed the fix and then reinstalled the Palm Software.
Palm appeared to install normally but when I tried to open it crashed with a
message that it could not open the address database.

I uninstalled it and then tried again.

Is this an XP or a Palm problem.

If I change the folder name to a new location is this likely to help?

Please disregard

This is a Palm(tm) problem.
I fixed it.

The reinstalled program would not open it's old data files.

I installed in a new directory and it's running fine except that I lost my
data.

Thanks for all your help.
