Task scheduler 0x80090016: Keyset does not exist

This problem has been reported many times on other bulitin boards but no
solutions have been posted.

When scheduled tasks try to run the message logged is:

"backup_usr_incr.job" (backup_usr_incr.bat) 01/02/2005 03:12:00 ** ERROR **
The attempt to retrieve account information for the specified task failed;
therefore, the task did not

run. Either an error occurred, or no account information existed for the task.
The specific error is:
0x80090016: Keyset does not exist

I have looked at your KB Article ID 246183 but this relates only to win2000
and my XP Pro SP2 does not have

the registry entry :
HKEY_USERS\.Default\Software\Microsoft\Cryptography\Providers\

I am thus not clear if it is safe to do step 6 : Delete all of the files in
the "C:\Documents and Settings\All

Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\S-1-5-18" folder.

I would like to understand the cause of the problem and how to get the
scheduler working again.

The system is :
