IIyama vision master pro 454 19" crt

After much drooling, and reading rave reviews here in UK, I bought this
CRT. Brilliant image....

After a few days, my wireless keyboard was erratic, and couple more
days, it stopped working completely. I thought perhaps coffee n crumbs
etc, so I bought another keyboard... Same thing happened...

Called the supplier, Misco, said they had never heard of a monitor
causing interference with wireless keyboards.

I then noticed that my handphone was hissing like never before, even 4
yards away from the monitor.

Called IIyama, who said indeed, this is a problem with some of these
monitors that have a radiation problem!! Offered to swap it for another
monitor.

I informed the DTI here in the UK, and Health and Safety are interested
and will inviestigate, as this may contravene legislation on electronics
and radiation in the EU.

So, now you know!
Lovely picture, but hey, what has it done to my brain.

Argh! That's exactly the same monitor I have :-(

To be honest, the picture is good at 1280x1024@100Hz, but at most other
settings I find it a bit flickery. The other anoying thing is that I
have two shadows of damper wires going across my screen :-(. I find
that the image is generally better than LCD's, at 1280x1024 though.

Yes, I had the wires too, but they didnt bother me, I dont do high
definition graphics. Im still waiting for IIyama to come and bring me a
new one. I'll test it with wireless keyboard though.... Hard to get
IIyama to say how many faulty monitors are around. Why they dont recall
the faulty batch I dont know?

My one is a couple of years old, so it's probably from a different
batch.

The Iiyama is an "aperture grille" monitor, and all aperture grille
monitors (e.g. monitors using a Mitsubishi Diamondtron or Sony
Trinitron tube) will have these two visible wires.

Most people don'tfind them intrusive, and the qality of these monitors
is normally better than the alternatives.
