Hi All.......

My Windows XP PC is in trouble. I noticed the problem when the IIS server
always returning error 500 for ASP pages. Checking things around I notice
the following error on the event log:

---
A condition has occurred that indicates this COM+ application is in an
unstable state or is not functioning correctly. Assertion Failure:
SUCCEEDED(hr)
Server Application ID: {02D4B3F1-FD88-11D1-960D-00805FC79235}
Server Application Instance ID:
{347BC96C-8EDA-4FED-8501-B3C86AFD2DA5}
Server Application Name: System Application
The serious nature of this error has caused the process to terminate.
Error Code = 0x8000ffff : Catastrophic failure
COM+ Services Internals Information:
File: d:\nt\com\com1x\src\comsvcs\tracker\trksvr\trksvri
mpl.cpp, Line: 3000
Comsvcs.dll file version: ENU 2001.12.4414.46 shp
For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
---

And there are lots of these errors on the event log. Now if I tried to
expand "Component Services" -> Computer, that is as far s I can go. The
windows suddenly dissapear.

Help, anyone has any idea?

For your information.
I had just install Hot fix SP2.....before installing hot fix SP2, my IIS is
working fine.......
Anyway, I have no idea about it.....I just suspect the problem is caused by
the Hot Fix sp2 "Q811114" and "Q819696"

pls guide me

Hi,

You'd probably be best asking this on an IIS group - can't remember them off
hand but you should be able to find them easily enough. People there will be
better equipped to deal with this.
