I'll answer my own post since I think I've fixed the problem. I had to
uncheck the check that said "allow this device to bring the computer out of
standby" under the Network adapters and ethernet hardware in the device
manager in the power management tab. Hope you learned something. Merry Xmas

No, you are NOT answering your own post. You are creating a NEW
thread. If you want to reply to your own post then do so (i.e., REPLY
to it). Don't start a new thread. This is not a chat or prattle room
full of disconnected posts. Discussions get threaded by replying to a
post. Creating new posts means your discussion is not a discussion
but a bunch of disconnected posts.

Hi,

It would have been better to post a reply to your original question so
everyone could follow it. If you didn't know how to do this or still don't
know and if you do this again, please include your original question along
with your answer. Anyway, glad you got it fixed and for at least posting the
answer.

Yes, if you had searched this group first, you would have found that as
an answer to "Why does my computer mysteriously wake back up?".
