If you know/use windows live messenger (msn) then you'll know the pain and loneliness of not being able to use it haha.

I always used msn, aaaalll the time, everyday. Untill the "new" one came out, i installed it quickly... And since then i have not been able to log in.

I get NO error messages, it just states "signing in" spins the two little people around about 5 times... and then goes back to the "would you like to sign in" page. As if nothing has happened, cos it hasn't :S.

I have tried the trouble shooter, everything comes up with a "tick". I have installed all the latest updates, deleted the local registry... I have re-installed the .net framework... PLEASE say that there is something i have missed.

I can't live without my msn </3

Thanks alot :(

You could try using system restore and roll back to your old version of MSN for the time being :)

Hmm i'm afraid that it's been like this for a few weeks, but only now have i resorted to asking here.

If i can't fix it, does anyone know an instant messaging program that i can use with my hotmail?

Thanks

It is also possible to access your MSN contacts using Yahoo Messenger - if you already have it. Once you've added them to your buddy list, they will show up when they log in to MSN.

Here we go...Go and delete Windows Live/MSN from your pc, then take yourself along to Olderversion and download and older version of MSN..Once that is done just don't allow for it to update through automatic updates..Another thing, have you checked that maybe your firewall/router or AV isn't blocking MSN..?

As for alternatives, as Addy say Trillian are pretty good, or you can use a web base site called www.iloveim.com

Hey!!

Thanks again for the help!
I went onto the windows website in the end, for some reason i never thought i'd be able to find the old version so easily, seeing how much they promote the new one... But it was tucked away in the windows download center.

I also didn't think that the old one would just... work

But it did ^^

Thanks alot, i'm now in touch with the world again haha :))
