iexplorer.exe shows running in task manager

hi!

whever i wokr on IE6, the iexplorer.exe shows up like 5-6
times in processes in task manager. this slows down my pc.
n this happend even after i close all the IE windows. this
doesnt hppnd with Opera or netscape.

does neone has any idea wht's wrong and how to avoid this?
