Hello, All!

I have problems connecting two computers - one with Xp and one Sony notebook
with w2000 over IEEE 1394 (firewire)

I am setting up both like in normal Ethernet (IP 192.168.0.1 /mask
255.255.255.0 etc) and status
shows connected ...
however ping does not go through....

What could be the problem?

With best regards, Andras. E-mail: (e-mail address removed)

Win2000 does not support IEEE1394 networking. You need WinME or XP.

the solution is at

http://www.vaio-link.com/UK/KB/2000_0/20020.html

Just switch from VAIO mode to STD mode in smart connect!!!!!
