IE7 - unable to retain homepage address after restart - always about:blank

I am trying to change my IE7 startup homepage to our corporate website
address, but after restarting the browser, it's reverted back to
about:blank. I can add additional homepages and they are retained after
restart, but the first URL always goes back to about:blank.

Is anyone experiencing similar issue?

Anti-virus application is up-to-date and I have run a full scan to check
for virus already.

Options/settings in several third-party applications may be disallowing the
change. These include Ad-aware's Ad-Watch, Spybot Tea Timer, SpywareBlaster,
SpySweeper, Norton AntiVirus, McAfee VirusScan and/or Antispyware, and Zone
Alarm (Free and Pro).
