IE7 PRO - No Good!

Hi. A week of spartanic battle, ended w/ a system restore.

"Open in New Tab" option dissappears,
Flash Player crashes, no U-Tube,
Similar setting options for the same function appears but can not
overwrite! Cancel it here, stays the same, over there!
Net feels like a dial-up!
No pictures on webpages. Shows the "image place holders while it is
disabled from the advanced settings!

Goes on and on.

I downloaded it from MICROSOFT, a place you' re sopposed to trust,
right? (Ups sorry, except win98)

Opened my e-mail account in 1992, have not seen such a poorly written
software.since.

I think you mean WinME. Win98 was a pretty respected OS from what I
remember.

Try selecting 'Show pictures'.
IE7 works here ok on two PCs (one XP Home & one Vista Home Premium).

I thought that IE7 (on XP Home ed.) was REALLY GOOD from getgo !!
....can't remember having any trouble with it, it's lightening fast, except
for the odd site that's under heavy load.
Tabbed browsing really good !

....my only gripe, (with all versions of IE), was that file download will not
work, (even with all required URL's entered into the Trusted Sites Zone),
unless file download is enabled in Internet Zone security settings.

Hi. I do have ie7 and its just fine. No problems. However the add-on,
ie7Pro was solely responsible of the wreck. I have never formatted my
own pc, and I maintain it good it is just that Microsoft would
advertise such an add on. (Prob. 3rd party, but still?)

There is no Pro[essional] version of Internet Explorer 7. There is
just IE7. Perhaps what you really meant to rant on about was IE7Pro.
There is also IEPlus that has many similar features (and some claim
one stole code from the other). They aren't stable. IE7Pro crashes
more often than does IEPlus but both crash. Don't go blaming
Microsoft because you install unknown plug-ins to IE that you haven't
fully trialed on a test host and instead decided to inflict upon your
production host. I tried both. Of the myriad of extras that they add
to IE, only a couple had value to me but both were unstable so they
got discarded.

The download link gets the file from download.com because the
program's author doesn't bother to provide his own file server).
Microsoft isn't responsible for software produced by 3rd parties.

page at their site. Their domain is registered through GoDaddy
(http://who.godaddy.com/whoischeck.aspx?Domain=IE7PRO.COM). Does that
look like Microsoft?

Next time, do a Google search to check on problems with an unknown
program. IE7Pro has a support forum (click on their Support link at
their web site and then click the forums link on the rightside of
their blog). Look like Microsoft to you? Doesn't look like you even
tried to expend a fart's worth of effort in getting help from the
program's author or through their forums.

Actually it is quite likely that you have never seen ANY software
writing. Did you actually disassemble IE7 to look at its code. You
haven't a clue about whether or not the code was poorly written.
Poorly written code can still behave very well. You can only comment
on the product's behavior. And you can't even properly identify WHICH
product with which you are having difficulties.

What you mean that they advertised it? As far as I can tell, MS has
nothing to do with this add-on at all.

I did follow the Microsoft path to download it, after a regular
Windows Update session, from the Windows Marketplace.

So when I get a tip from Microsoft that there is an add on for ie, I
am not supposed to trust it?

I mean somebody in Seattle must have tried it right?

For a utility, that is the first place that I look.

I KNOW that they do not assume responsibility for third party stuff
but, who does anyway?

When Microsoft "lists" an add on for me to check it out, I trust them,
period. This is what I am upset about.

Next time, do a Google search to check on problems with an unknown

Fine. But in 2007, being a code writer is not supposed to be a
"requirement" to operate a simple browser add on!

I have mentioned ie7Pro many times, you could have just google it.
(but be carefull with "google" too, you' ll never know??)
