ie6 upgrade help

Bob

Hiya everyone,
I am trying to work on an old computer with win 98se. Everytime I try to
upgrade to ie6 sp1 I get the message " A previous installation has pending
work requiring a reboot. You need to restart your computer
to complete that installation before running setup. Setup will now close."
Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this?
Thank you in advance
Bob
