Hi All,

I have a slight problem, after installing eTrust AV Gateway software on my
W2K Server, Internet Explorer 6 SP1 no longer works!!

I double click the icon and it starts loading, but just before the home page
is displayed, it shuts down again - unfortunately there are no errors in
Event Viewer or anywhere that I can find.

I have tried numerous different home pages and it is fine when I start up a
VPN connection to any of our customer sites, so I know it's not an ADSL
connection problem.

Anybody else had this problem - All help/assistance very muchly appreciated

TIA
Mark.

Open the Internet Options applet in Control Panel
Uncheck "Enable third-party browser extensions" on the Advanced tab.
You may also have to set the Home Page to about:blank

Then eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

Alternative download pages for Ad-Aware, Spybot, HijackThis and CWShredder
may be found on this page:

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
